Republicans have us in a huge mess
In Afghanistan, civilian casualties are up 60 percent in the first half of 2008. Iraq is a chaotic mess of civil conflict, with Baghdad turned into a rat’s maze of walls between neighborhoods that make daily life unbearable for its citizens. And we are poised to send a fresh group of 30,000 troops to Iraq by the end of the year.
