How ironic that the sculpture at the Mill Pond is named “Decision Pending” as the fate of its location is pending on the decision of the city of Brighton leadership. The sculpture has been the highlight of the Brighton Biennial art exhibition for the past four years. It is the most-photographed and talked-about piece of art in Brighton. It is interesting that all of the sudden the location is an issue.
We’re about to enter the frenzied homestretch of what is certain to be a bitterly contested political contest, right down to Election Day.

Q: I have several nice blue spruces. However, this year, something weird happened to them. They made brown cones on the tip end of the sideward-growing branches. They are just on the ends of about a quarter of the tree. These trees are about 6 feet tall, and this is the first time they ever made cones. Why do the cones have what looks like needles sticking out of them?
On NPR radio news the other morning, I heard them say that the head of the federal Food and Drug Administration said, “We don’t know how salmonella got into the eggs.” I know because I read an article by Dr. Shiv Chopra, former researcher with Health Canada (like the U.S. FDA). It’s pretty obvious that factory farming practices are harmful to our food and us. Get rid of five harmful practices and these incidents will be rare:
