Guest column: Much at risk if Hamburg recreation millage fails

On Tuesday, the residents of Hamburg Township will be asked to vote on a millage to provide funding to keep our parks, Lakelands Trail, and the senior and community center operating. The Hamburg Township Board of Trustees, along with the unanimous support of the Hamburg Township Parks and Recreation Board and all local activity and athletic groups, have made the decision to seek funding to keep our recreational facilities open and functioning through a special millage, as the township’s general fund can no longer support them on its own.
