Christmas tree pickup in Livingston County Michigan
The city of Brighton will pick up Christmas trees on trash collection days during the weeks of January 2 and January 9, 2006. Residents should remove all decorations and place the tree at the curb; do not put it in a plastic trash bag.
In Howell, the city will collect trees from the east side on Tuesday and the city’s west side on Wednesday.

Volunteers needed at Last Chance Rescue
- Last Chance Rescue in Cohoctah is seeking assistance with transporting animals, maintaining a database, kennel chores and promotion.
- Last Chance Rescue is looking for volunteers to transport animals to their showings. Transportation vehicle is provided when transporting animals on Saturdays, however if you can use your own vehicle that would be appreciated.

Volunteers needed at Recycle Livingston of Michigan
- Recycle Livingston is a nonprofit organization dedicated to recycling, located at 170 Catrell Street in Howell. Recycle Livingston is staffed mostly by volunteers who come in to help during site hours. Volunteers are needed to help unload cars and sort recyclable materials during business hours (see below). Light to moderate activity is involved, but greeter positions, with less activity, are available. Also need volunteers to make phone calls for scheduling; solicit local businesses for time and materials; and help in the office with membership cards and letters. The work is great fun and exercise and requirements are very few. Please contact Linda.

Volunteers needed at The Accounting Aid Society and Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency
The Accounting Aid Society and Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency are seeking volunteers in helping limited-income families prepare for and file their income tax returns and tax credits.
Training is 6 – 10 pm January 17 and January 24 at Cleary University’s Howell Campus. After training, volunteers can choose to help out at 30 locations in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Livingston counties.
