What type of tree is right for you?
- Balsam fir
Dark green, fragrant foilage contribute to the desirability of this species as a Christmas tree. Somewhat open in growth habit and form, the strong branches permit the use of heavier ornaments. Soft needles and a straight stem have made this a traditional favorite for many.
- Concolor fir
An elegant tree with silver-green foilage that is displayed in an upright, sweeping manner. Medium length needles, excellent needle retention, and pleasing brandh habits make this a most attractive and desirable tree.
- Douglas fir
An excellent species with fragrant, relatively short needles. Douglas fir holds its needles well and is not affected by cold temperatures as some grown in warmer climates are. Moderately strong branches make this an easy tree to decorate.
- Fraser Fir
Closely related to balsam fir, this species is known for its dark green needles with silvery undersides. A pleasing fragrance combined with upright branches, straight stems and excellent needle retention make this tree increasingly popular.
- Blue spruce
Known for its attractive bluish foliage, this species is gaining increased popularity as a Christmas tree. The Colorado Blue Spruce has an attractive pyramidal shape and stiff branching which makes this tree very easy to decorate. Although somewhat bulky to ship, demand for this tree by consumers is increasing.
- White spruce
A popular tree known for its traditional appearance and ease of decorating. Soft, short needles and strong branches permit the use of larger and heavier ornaments. Dark green to greenish-blue color contributes to the attractiveness of this species.
- Scotch pine
A traditional favorite known for its excellent needle retention and strong branch characteristics. A tree with medium length needles of excellent color. This tree is a good shipper and has the ability to hold up well on retail lots in warm climates.
- White pine
Renowned for its elegant, symmetrical shape, the white pine is growing popularity as a Christmas tree. The white pine has beautiful soft needles with excellent color and retention, and holds up extremely well during handling and shipping.
